Quote versions
A sent quote is binding and must not be overwritten. If a change is nevertheless needed, B2B+ Quotes creates a new version — the sent version stays on record as proof.
When to revise
The "Create new version" action is only available for quotes in status sent. As long as a quote is still requested or in_progress, it is edited directly — no version needed.
What happens when revising
- The merchant opens the sent quote and clicks "Create new version".
- A new version is created in status
in_progress, into which everything is copied: positions, tiers, alternatives, intro/closing texts and terms. - The new version is bound to the previous version via a link and gets an incremented version number.
- The quote number stays the same, extended by a revision suffix
-R{n}(e.g.AN-10012-R2) — unique, yet clearly recognisable as the same quote. - The original sent version is frozen as
supersededand can no longer be accepted.
The merchant edits the new version and re-sends it.
Superseded
A superseded version is frozen:
- It is not editable (hint "This version has been replaced by a newer one and is frozen.").
- It can no longer be accepted by the customer.
- In the customer account it is hidden — the customer only sees the current offer.
Version history
With more than one version, the detail page shows a version history. It is built from the link chain (backwards over predecessors, forwards over successors) and lists all versions in order; the current one is marked. The merchant jumps between versions via the list.
Duplicate vs. revise
Revising creates a bound new version of the same quote (number with -R{n}, predecessor frozen) and also copies tiers and alternatives. Duplicating (from the list), in contrast, creates a completely new, independent quote with a new number — the template workflow "negotiate once, reuse forever".
