Price on request

With "Price on request" you hide a product's price and replace the buy button with a quote request. This suits products that need explanation or individual costing.

Two triggers

1. Per product: custom field avellon_price_on_request

On installation the plugin creates a product custom field:

  • Field: "Price on request" (switch), in the field set "B2B+ Quotes".
  • Location: product in the Administration → Specifications (custom fields).
  • Effect: when the switch is on, the price and buy button are hidden for that product.

2. Globally for guests: hidePricesForGuests

If the setting "Hide prices for guests (price on request)" is on (default off), not-logged-in visitors see "Price on request" instead of a price on all products. For logged-in customers the prices stay visible. See Configuration.

INFO

The two triggers are independent: the product field switches a single product for everyone; hidePricesForGuests switches all products for guests.

Storefront behaviour

On the product page (buy area):

  • Instead of the price it reads "Price on request".
  • Logged-in customers see a quantity field, an optional message field, and the "Request price" button. The click creates a quote request for exactly this product (no cart) and flags the quote as price on request.
  • Guests see "Log in & request price" instead and are taken to login.

Prices stay hidden until the quote is ready

For a quote flagged as price on request, the prices stay hidden in the customer account while the quote is requested or in_progress — with the hint "We will share the prices with our quote." Once the merchant sends the quote, the prices become visible and the customer can accept.

The further flow follows the normal Workflow.
